How did we hear this? Well we caught up with the very busy artist to sit down with him for another chat. We just had to know where all these wildly successful creative juices were coming from. And if you are as curious as we were, hang on JAH RICO is about to give some answers....
SHYRICK: You have dropped back to back, some red hot tracks that SHYRICK NATION and our contacts on AUDIOMACK are in love with where did you find the motivation and the lyrics for these two tracks?
JAH RICO: During the time I wrote World Tyranny I felt like we were being put into cage like animals, So to create a release within myself I turned to my music to express what I was feeling, there was so fear being generated by the media around the world and the people were in confusion,
At the same time the light of consciousness was rising daily, It was like two ships passing at sea, The light of consciousness and the darkness of confusion and fear, this is a war on people’s bodies minds and spirit, The light is definitely on the rise and is creating more and more illumination inside the people.
That's how PEOPLE R WAKING UP came about, I wrote it because I had this vision of a healing energy coming out of the earth so I quickly put pen to paper and I made contact with a musician in Jamaica to create the riddim.
SHYRICK: What do you attribute to the success of both singles?
JAH RICO: People want to hear the truth, they will resonate with the truth when they hear it, They feel it in their bodies in their souls, they really do want the truth even when though it may painful, music helps to deliver the message in a positive way, people are suffering and need to know that people around them are waking up to the tyranny and this gives them strength to move forward through the chaos. Music is medicine, It’s helps us to rise up. and LIVE.
SHYRICK: What is your advice for those WHO ARE WAKING UP and are in shock with the reality they see?
JAH RICO: Embrace the truth as it is, meditation is one way to connect to your own inner vision and will allow you to sit and observe the truth, The shock, the horror are strong so you will need to find a still point within to connect to your witness, that way you can observe and not get thrown off balance, Stay strong in your witness to all the changes around us.
SHYRICK: When it is said " MUSIC IS LIFE" what does that mean to you?
JAH RICO: Music is everything to me, music is the Almighty that speaks within me. It’s connects me to the Oneness of Universal consciousness. Music is what powers all that is. All of nature is making music every moment the earth, the stars, the sun, the trees, are all making music. Celebration, joy and gratitude is their natural state of being, music is love that you can hear when you take the time to listen. Listening is the great connector to the Cosmos.
SHYRICK: What do you have in the works that your fans can look forward to?
JAH RICO: I have some unreleased songs that I plan to release this summer, They are happy songs, songs to uplift the people and get them on their feet and dance.
Songs of celebration flowing through the air. My gift to the people. I want to say big up to my fans, much love and gratitude for your support over the years.
