DJ SPICEMAN showing Up Fully Loaded To Slam Down Some Heat
We were acutely aware that a new riddim was coming produced by CARL MELODY called "AT-U", our Ambassador Artist to this station JAH NICENESS ( also on the riddim) gave us the heads up and whispered, "It sounds sweeeeeeet" and he did not lie at all !
But hey !!!!!!!!! Who is this DJ SPICEMAN showing up fully loaded to slam down some of his own heat on the riddim ... on not one .... but two tracks ? Dang!!!!! Hit the >>>GO BUTTON<<< and check out both of these singles for yourself.
We caught up with DJ SPICEMAN because ya got to know... if SHYRICK NATION has an eye on an artist, they look to BOSSmagazine to give them a closer look. So here goes family, the DJ SPICEMAN under the microscope . Ok maybe not so intrusive.
SHYRICK: How did you meet producer CARL MELODY and what is the story behind him asking you be one of the artists riding the riddim ?
DJ SPICEMAN: I've known Carl Melody since we were kids. We went to the same school as kids together. Then after not seeing each other for many years we linked up recently and it was a no-brainer when he asked me to do a remix of Mood for Love. Then I went on to do virtuous woman on the same track.
SHYRICK: What inspired the track VIRTUOUS WOMAN, how did it come from idea to finished product?
DJ SPICEMAN: Virtuous Woman was influence by a past relationship, it was written about 12 years ago. When I heard the "AT-U" track recently I knew this was the right time for Virtuous Woman to be recorded. It is dedicated to all women who are upholding high and moral standards.
SHYRICK: Can we get a little background about you for our NATION please. They just have to know >>> how did you get into the music business... how long have you been entertaining ... and what do you want your vibe to say to your listener?
DJ SPICEMAN: My name is Paul Taffe aka DJ Spiceman. I was born in the Parish of Saint Ann Jamaica, Gibraltar Clover Hill to be specific. My interest into music started in the eighties when I used to sing at school concerts and in and outside of my community singing on local sound like Black Magic.
After leaving school I went in to Kingston to join the Jamaica Defence Force. After being in the Army for about a year I was introduced to Sugar Minott "Black Roots Youth Promotion" label and sound system, where I started to hone my skill as a recording and performing artist.
My Vibes for my listeners I am on the conscious side of music but it's all about Show Business and we are all putting on a show. Variety is the spice of life, so I am the "people's variety" that's me, dj Spice Man!
