We caught up with MADI SIMMONS recently to see how he's surviving 2020's pandemic environment, here's what he has to say :
SHYRICK: What concerns you the most about our current global environment ... not only now ... but the future as well and not only from a musical/ career perspective, but also from a human perspective?
MADI SIMMONS: I guess what truly concerns me is those who dont want change will do everything possible to maintain the statues quo..as for my music caeer, i will just coninute moving forward with recording upfull tunes.
SHYRICK: What do you think the musical communities responsibility is in aiding the situation ( if any) and do you see the community stepping up in this manner?
MADI SIMMONS: I see some in the music community are stepping up, donating money, putting on virtual shows,ect ...
SHYRICK: As a musician, aside from loss of VENUES at the moment, what other challenges are you currently experiencing ?
MADI SIMMONS : The loss of venues right now is a major let down, i do understand though the need to care for one another, so this is something that we just have to deal with. There is always a way to get the vibes out, yet for many who depend on gigs for livelyhood.this has been a serious hit.
SHYRICK: What are the moves you made that are currently keeping you alive in the industry at the moment ?
MADI SIMMONS: I have been recording and sharing as much as possible.
SHYRICK: what is your best advice at the moment for humanity struggling with the changes we are all now going through?
MADI SIMMONS : Unity is strength, strength is unity, keep talking and sharing with one another, learn to agree to dis-agree ..
